Benefits:
- Technology: Post, manage, and track volunteer opportunities via an online calendar.
- Training: Volunteer program troubleshooting, brainstorming, technical support, and community partner consulting sessions led by Hands On's volunteer management experts.
- Increased visibility: Highlights volunteer events to ‘friends’ and followers via Hands On's website, social media, and newsletter.
Partner qualifications:
- Designation by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit or faith-based organization with a profile on GivingMatters.com; OR
- Status as a school, government agency, hospital, hospice or senior living facility;
AND - Liability insurance that includes coverage for volunteer activities.
Our commitment to inclusion:
- Hands On believes that our communities are strengthened by people of all ages, races, ethnicities, skin tones, sexes, genders, sexualities, religions, abilities, and socioeconomic statuses engaging in service together. Any projects listed on hon.org must benefit the community and not provide services or volunteer opportunities that discriminate based on race, color, national origin, religious affiliation, age, disability, gender or sex.
- Hands On's intent is to promote projects that provide meaningful service opportunities and benefit our neighborhoods and communities. Hands On partners with both religious institutions and government entities, as well as nonprofit organizations. Partners seeking membership must not withhold services based on membership or religious affiliation/participation. Activities not appropriate for Hands On volunteers include proselytizing, any direct religious activity, or political campaigning.
- United Way is currently covering partnership fees for organizations based in Montgomery, Houston, and Stewart counties. Complimentary Partners are still required to share a COI and sign Hands On's partnership agreement, accepting these nondiscrimination policies prior to posting.
